The Quiraing
(Highland - Skye & Lochalsh)The imposing peaks of The Ouiraing were created due to a series of landslips which over many years exposed the underlying rocky crests. These jagged formations lend the area an unearthly even supernatural feeling. This feeling helped the area to be selected to represent a surviving prehistoric landscape for the film The Land That Time Forgot (1975). Other productions to make use of this location include Breaking The Waves (1996) and BBC's series Hamish Macbeth.
