Welcome to the website of the Scottish Highlands and Islands Film Commission.
We operate in a large geographical area in the north of Scotland which covers six local authorities, the Highland Council, Argyll and Bute Council, Orkney Islands Council, Moray Council, Shetland Islands Council and Western Isles Council.
We offer a free and confidential service to the film, television and commercial production community including:
- information and advice on locations and permissions
- contacts for cast, crew and facilities
- information on accommodation
- recce support
Our aim is to make your shoot in the Highlands and Islands as smooth running as possible in a film friendly environment.
We are members of the United Kingdom Screen Commission Network and of the Association of Film Commissioners International
