1. Barmac, Ardersier near Inverness 15 miles, Inverness airport 5 miles
This is the site of the former oil fabrication yard now - lying empty. The site itself is 800 acres. Its a secure site on the edge of the Moray Firth, it includes a beach and shoreline. There are at least thirteen large buildings on the site including:
One storage facility which is c100 thousand square metres.
There is a building which is c 3,300 square metres.
There is another building which is 50,000 square metres but is split into bays of 120 by 30 metres and it is 30 metres high - metres not feet!
There are also office facilities and a canteen facility on the site which could be reactivated. c 3,000 people used to be employed there.
Currently the site is up for sale. There is a manager on site. he reckons it is unlikely that the site will be bought very quickly - snd even more unlikely that anything would happen by May even if new owners took over. Apart from the photos we have put on a web page for you you can access brochure on the web through http://www.fairfieldauctions.co.uk/mcdermott/mcdcat.zip.
