James Bond is back this October in the latest 007 adventure, Skyfall, and this time Scotland features prominently.
Acknowledging Bond’s literary roots, which saw creator Ian Fleming give him a Scottish father, Andrew, the new film is said to revisit 007’s family history in an explosive sequence that found the production team shooting in the Highlands in 2012.
Bond (Daniel Craig) and M (Dame Judi Dench) can be seen standing next to Glen Etive in the first teaser trailer, which debuted last week. Dalness Lodge was also used for some of the film’s exterior scenes.
Skyfall isn’t the only Bond film to be shot in the Highlands, with Eilean Donan castle standing in for MI6’s Scottish HQ in 1999’s The World is Not Enough.
The Bond crew were assisted during their visit by the team at the Highlands of Scotland Film Commission, please get in touch to find out how your film can benefit from being shot in the Highlands.
